University of Kielce In the Świętokrzyskie Province it is the only academic city. Every year, it attracts about 50,000 students, where nearly half of them decide to study at the Jan Kochanowski University. The University consists of five independent faculties operating in Kielce (Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Humanities, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Pedagogical and Artistic and Faculty of Law, Administration and Management). The following faculties also operate under the banner of Jan Kochanowski University: Philology and History (Branch in Piotrków Trybunalski) and Social Sciences (Branch in Piotrków Trybunalski). Studies are carried out in full-time and part-time modes. In addition, the university is entitled to confer postdoctoral degree in four areas: dr hab. physical sciences in physics; dr hab. humanities in the field of history; dr hab. in the field of health sciences; dr hab. in the field of biology UJK students operate over 83 scientific circles. In addition, since 1995 they run the Student Radio Studio Decybel II, which works all week in the evening. In March 2006, the first issue of the student magazine Presik was published. The University also has a Center for Student Science and Culture, whose task is to support the scientific activity of students and to animate cultural life. Student Club WSPAK is also associated with ONiKS, which is a place of communing with culture and developing creative activities in many fields of art. However, the student does not live by science alone. Every year, university students donate blood as part of the nationwide “Vampire” campaign. In addition, Kielce students register at the bone marrow donor bank during organized campaigns. Sport is also a strong point of the Kielce university. The University Club of the Academic Sports Association of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce runs several sections, including handball and women’s and men’s volleyball. Handball players AZS UJK took second place in the 2014 Małopolska Senior League. Volleyballers in the 2014/2015 season won in the III league competitions. Thanks to the Active Student Club founded a few years ago, the 50 best students have the opportunity to present their silhouette in an album, which is sent to leading employers of the Świętokrzyskie Province every year.   Recruitment for the university in Kielce To become a student of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, several conditions must be met.
